If you've searched for a way to share Claude artifacts, ChatGPT canvases, or any other AI-generated HTML, you've probably run into both ShareDuo and Bauta. They solve the same surface problem — get an AI-generated page onto a URL someone else can open — but they solve it in fundamentally different ways, and the differences matter more than they look.
This is a comparison written by the Bauta team, so take our framing with appropriate skepticism. We'll be as honest as we can, including the cases where ShareDuo is the better pick.
What ShareDuo does well
ShareDuo is a fast, no-friction sharing tool. Its core pitch: upload HTML, get a link, no account required. If you've never used it, the flow is roughly this: paste or upload your HTML, optionally set a password and an expiry date, and ShareDuo hands you a URL on shareduo.com.
Credit where it's due — there are things ShareDuo does that are genuinely good:
- Zero-account sharing. No sign-up, no login, no friction. You have HTML, you want a link, you get one. For quick throwaway sharing, this is hard to beat.
- Password protection and expiry. Basic access control is built in — set a password, set an expiry date. For a quick share that shouldn't live forever, these are the right primitives.
- MCP integration in Cowork. ShareDuo works as an MCP tool inside Cowork, so you can share artifacts directly from a conversation. The flow is natural and well-designed.
- Affordable paid tier. ShareDuo Plus at $4.99/month removes branding and adds longer expiry windows. Straightforward pricing with no surprises.
If all you need is to show someone a thing your AI made — once, briefly, without worrying about what happens to the link next month — ShareDuo does that job cleanly.
Where ShareDuo falls short
The limitations show up the moment the thing you're sharing is more than a quick demo. Four gaps become visible:
1. Links expire after 30 days
On ShareDuo's free tier, shared links expire after 30 days. The Plus plan extends this, but the design assumption is the same: your shared content is temporary. If you send a proposal to a client and they bookmark it for next quarter's budget cycle, the link may be dead when they come back. For anything that needs to outlive the conversation it came from, expiring links are a liability.
2. No permanence, no versioning
ShareDuo treats each upload as a standalone snapshot. Update your artifact and share it again? That's a new URL. There's no concept of "the same document, updated" — no version history, no rollback, no way to see what was live at a given date. You're managing links manually, hoping recipients have the current one.
3. Everything lives on shareduo.com
Every shared artifact is served from ShareDuo's domain. You can't bring your own subdomain, and there's no way to make shared content look like it came from you. For personal experiments, that's fine. For client deliverables, freelance portfolios, or agency work, the URL announces that the content was shared through a third-party paste tool — not shipped from your own infrastructure.
4. No governance or compliance story
ShareDuo doesn't publish a DPA, doesn't specify data residency, and doesn't offer audit logs or team-level controls. For a solo creative sharing a fun project, none of that matters. For a team that sends client-facing deliverables, or for anyone in a regulated industry, the absence of governance tooling is a hard stop.
What Bauta does differently
Bauta is built around a different assumption: the thing your AI made is a real deliverable, and it deserves the infrastructure of one. That means permanent URLs, ownership, versioning, and sharing controls — all accessible from a single sentence in your AI conversation.
Permanent URLs you own
When you publish through Bauta, the artifact gets a stable URL that doesn't expire. Update the artifact next week or next year — same URL, new content. On a paid plan, your links live on your own subdomain (you.bauta.app). The link looks like something you shipped, not something a tool emitted.
Four sharing modes
Every artifact starts as unlisted — only people with the secret link can access it. From there, you control visibility: make it private (no one but you), share it with specific people via email, make it fully public, or keep it unlisted with a secret token. You choose per artifact, and you can change it any time. See the full sharing model.
Version history and rollback
Every publish is recorded. You can see what was live at any point, compare versions, and roll back if something goes wrong. When a client asks "what did the report say last Tuesday?" you have an answer, not a shrug.
Sandbox isolation and security
Shared content runs in an isolated sandbox on a separate domain — never on Bauta's app domain. Content is scanned against Google Safe Browsing. Hosting is in the EU. There's a published security architecture, a DPA, and a privacy policy that answers the questions a client's legal team will ask.
MCP integration across all clients
Bauta works as an MCP connector in Claude, Claude Code, Cowork, ChatGPT, and Codex. The workflow is the same everywhere: "share this" in the conversation, get a permanent link back. Set it up once; it works across your whole AI toolkit.
Free plan with unlimited deploys
Bauta's free tier gives you unlimited artifact deploys at share.bauta.app URLs. No 30-day cap, no per-artifact limits. Pricing details.

When to use ShareDuo
Be honest: ShareDuo is the better tool for certain use cases. Specifically:
- Throwaway demos. You built something fun in Claude and want to show a friend. The link doesn't need to last. No account, no setup — just paste and share.
- One-time internal show-and-tell. Sharing a prototype with your team for a quick reaction, where the artifact has no life beyond that Slack thread.
- When zero friction matters more than anything. You're in a conversation, you want a link in five seconds, and you'll never think about that artifact again.
For these cases, ShareDuo's zero-account flow is a genuine advantage. Don't over-engineer a throwaway.
When to use Bauta
Bauta is the better choice when:
- The link needs to last. Client proposals, portfolio pieces, recurring reports, documentation, anything where a dead link costs you credibility.
- You need to control who sees it. Private sharing, email-gated access, or the ability to revoke access after the fact.
- You update the artifact over time. Weekly reports, living documents, iterative designs — anything where the same URL should always show the latest version.
- You work with clients or regulated data. DPA, EU hosting, audit-ready version history, sandbox isolation — the governance layer that makes the difference between "I used an AI tool" and "I have a compliant workflow."
- You want the URL to look professional. A subdomain you own versus a generic paste-tool URL. Small thing, but it shapes how recipients perceive the work.
The honest recommendation
If you're sharing a fun experiment or a one-time demo, use ShareDuo. It's built for that, and it does it well.
If you're sharing anything that matters — anything where the link should still work next month, where you need to know who opened it, where the artifact will be updated, or where a client's name is attached — use Bauta. The two-minute setup pays for itself the first time you don't have to re-send a broken link.
They're not really competitors. They're different tools for different intentions: one for sharing, one for shipping.
